Stephanie Bencin is a Brooklyn based writer, director and archival producer. Her writing has been featured in several publications including Vulture, Romper, and McSweeneys. She spent several years on house teams and taught at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. She was an Official Artist at the New York Television Festivals for her pilot screenplays Sliding Dorks and Age Appropriate. She was a finalist for the WGA sponsored Made in NY Writers Room. Her feature screenplay Safe Space was a semifinalist of the Academy’s Nicholls Fellowship. She recently wrote and directed her first short film, Greetings which received the NYFA Women’s Fund award and premiered at the Chattanooga Film Festival where it took home the Audience Award for Best Short.
